If your insurance does not cover hyaluronic acid (HA) therapies for knee osteoarthritis (OA) pain, you still have options for getting the care your doctor recommends.

The Direct Purchase Program lets you buy DUROLANE®, GELSYN 3®, or SUPARTZ FX® directly from Bioventus, with your doctor’s prescription.

Here’s how the Direct Purchase Program works:

  1. Your doctor will submit your prescription.
  2. Once your eligibility is confirmed, your doctor will talk about purchase options with you and submit the necessary forms.
  3. CareMed Specialty Pharmacy will call you for payment and then ship the HA therapy.
  4. Your doctor’s office will contact you to schedule an appointment for your treatment.

More Options and Information

  • Your doctor may offer a simple cash-pay option. This allows your doctor to purchase your HA therapy from Bioventus and then provide the knee OA treatment to you for a direct, out-of-pocket payment.

Summary of Indications for Use: DUROLANE, GELSYN-3, and SUPARTZ FX are indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacological therapy or simple analgesics, e.g. acetaminophen.

Contraindications and Summary of Risks: Do not inject DUROLANE, GELSYN-3, or SUPARTZ FX in patients with knee joint infections, skin diseases, or other infections in the area of the injection site. Do not administer to patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to sodium hyaluronate preparations.

Risks can include transient pain or swelling at the injection site.

DUROLANE, GELSYN-3, and SUPARTZ FX have not been tested in pregnant or lactating women, or children.
