Even mild to moderate osteoarthritis knee pain can stop you in your tracks

A healthy knee has thick synovial fluid that lubricates and cushions the joint, protecting it from damage.15 Osteoarthritis causes the synovial fluid to lose hyaluronic acid and become thin and weak.18

Say no to limits. Choose HA and keep moving.

Our FDA-approved hyaluronic acid therapies are injected into the knee, providing pain relief that lasts longer than steroids with fewer side effects than NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen).9-11,19 These therapies also increase mobility and protect the joint from further damage.12,20

Choose HA for joint protection as well as pain relief up to 6 months†11

As the first line of treatment for osteoarthritis knee pain, doctors commonly recommend over-the-counter painkillers, like acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen. Steroid injections are a secondary therapy, recommended if a patient isn’t getting adequate relief with oral painkillers.

Unfortunately, these medications do nothing to improve knee mobility and strength. Nor do they protect joints from wear-and-tear damage that can lead to joint replacement surgery sooner rather than later. The pain relief NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen) provide is meant for short-term use. Long-term, repeated doses can increase the risk of side effects such as stomach bleeding or liver or kidney problems.21

Hyaluronic acid therapies directly target osteoarthritis in the knee joint. These therapies replenish the shock-absorbing properties of the lost synovial fluid and safely relieve knee pain.11,15
